Program Description:
This course consists of a moderated robotic prostatectomy case presentation broadcasted in high definition 3-D vision. This course will demonstrate the technical steps involved in robot-assisted radical prostatectomy.
Target Audience:
This program is directed toward urologists, urologic oncologists, urologic nurses, primary care physicians and healthcare professionals whose patients may include prostate cancer patients.
Learning Objectives:
- Describe the anatomy of the prostate related to robotic radical prostatectomy
- Illustrate the surgical methodology behind robotic radical prostatectomy
- Trace mechanisms for urinary continence and potency preservation
- Outline concept of visual cues as a strategy towards standardization of robotic radical prostatectomy
