A prostate cancer diagnosis means navigating a maze of confusing treatment choices. These may include radiation treatments, cryosurgery, conventional open or robotic prostatectomy or careful monitoring of the cancer without immediate treatment ("watchful waiting").

Most men with this diagnosis share a number of serious concerns. The main concern should be completely removing the cancer to stop it from spreading. Another worry is how well bowel, urinary, and sexual functions will recover after treatment, and concerns about dealing with the rigors of the treatment itself. There is also the very important question of where to have the selected treatment and by whom.
